Who is Shafi?
Shafi Shafat has made this community his home, facing the same struggles many local families know all too well. Seeing those challenges firsthand lit a passion for uplifting his neighborhood. Shafi worked hard to put himself through college, earning degrees in Supply Chain Management and Logistics. He then leveraged his education and entrepreneurial spirit to open small businesses right here in our community. Shafi created jobs, served clients, and always gave back.
Today, Shafi runs the Somali American Chamber of Commerce, helping minority business owners thrive. He also founded:
– Dalmar TV – A 24/7 local TV channel serving and informing our community
– Batel Express – A transportation company connecting goods across the country
Through his businesses, Shafi has created hundreds of local jobs. He understands the types of economic opportunities our community needs. Outside his professional roles, Shafi serves on neighborhood committees supporting local schools and recreation centers. Now this trusted community leader wants to take his firsthand experience and collaboration skills to fight for us in the State House. Because Shafi has walked in our shoes, we can count on him to advocate for our community every single day.
